Are the Certification Programs available now?

We are completing several pilot tests within automotive retailing, and with OSA's specific requirements. Because the tool, partner and processes are well-proven in other industries, we anticipate general availability in January or February 2008.

How can I sign my company up?

Please complete the form here, and we'll follow up immediately.

Is there more information available?

Of course! Please email or call with any questions, and we will customize a proposal for your consideration.

Will OSA partner with additional companies to provide certification services?

No. OSA selected TruArx after an extensive comparison of the market. TruArx brings a unique set of on-line tools and broad expertise that is unmatched.

Is the pricing truly 'one size fits all?'

The pricing assumes that a company's operations are discrete and contained within one location. For large companies, it may make sense to divide the certification process (and resulting certification) into smaller entities. So, the pricing could increase for companies undertaking certification for various sets of programs and / or various locations. We're happy to answer specific questions, and build a program that is tailored to individual needs.

Are there other fees or required activities?

No. We offer OSA members a substantial discount, in recognition and appreciation of their support of OSA's broader activities. In some cases, the discount entirely offsets the annual membership fees. Our Certification partner, TruArx, brings a broad range of capabilities. We're happy to arrange conversations around additional assistance, if requested. But, it's not required or, in most cases, necessary.

Is OSA making a profit on these Certification Programs?

Fees associated with the Certification Programs primarily cover the direct cost of the program - which include internal and third-party expenses. We anticipate broad-based marketing of this program, as well as ongoing updates to the program and underlying guidelines, so a small portion of the fees also covers OSA's general expenses. We offer OSA members a substantial discount in appreciation for their support of OSA's programs. As a not-for-profit organization, OSA's revenue and income is all utilized directly for the benefit of its members and in support of its education and communication roles.

Why is Certification only valid for 1 year?

Automotive retailing and IT services evolve quickly. Dealerships need to know that data security remains a key priority for IT providers, so maintaining regular, comprehensive reviews of those processes is important. Further, we expect OSA members to provide frequent input into the Security Guidelines, and we will update them annually.

How can I provide feedback on the Security Guidelines?

We welcome your input anytime! And, we will update the Guidelines once a year, and we will communicate opportunities to participate in that effort.

Who makes the final decision regarding Certification approval or matters of interpretation?

OSA's staff will lead the effort in any matters of interpretation, and will provide final Certification approval. TruArx will provide their counsel and guidance where appropriate, and a small number of OSA members may be asked for their perspectives. All information specific to an applicant's processes or responses will remain confidential and used only by OSA and TruArx.
